Bruce Matthews has impressive credentials in floodplain management.

Bruce D. Matthews has the distinction of being the 33rd Certified Flood Plan Manager licensed in Illinois. He is also a Licensed Professional Engineer with 28 years of solving Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) floodplain challenges. Mr. Matthews earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois C-U as well as a Master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Engineering. He is an active member of the Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management, presenting at IASFM annual conferences and serving on its Public Policy Committee.

Bruce is an experienced Village Engineer. He has written village floodplain ordinances and has also defended ordinances as an expert witness in court. FEMA has approved over 450 Letters of Map Amendment (LOMAs) submitted by Mr. Matthews enabling structures to be removed from the floodplain and saving property owners thousands of dollars in flood insurance.
